All Questions NDIS Answered

What is the NDIS?
The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) provides funding for supports and services directly to eligible participants. People with disability have more control and choice over how, when and where their supports are provided. The focus of the NDIS is to support participants to become more independent and achieve their goals, including developing skills for day-to-day living.

What is the NDIA?
The NDIA stands for the National Disability Insurance Agency. It’s the government agency that manages the NDIS to make sure it supports a better life for people with disability and their families and carers.

What does the NDIS cover?
The NDIS funds reasonable and necessary support and equipment that a person with disability needs. The funding supports you to pursue your goals and aspirations; increase your independence; increase your social and economic participation and to develop your capacity to take part in the community.

What doesn’t the NDIS cover?
NDIS funding doesn’t cover general everyday living expenses that people without disability would be required to pay, such as train travel, rent, groceries, mobile phone or movie tickets.

Is there an Age Limit for NDIS participants?
People applying for National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) funding must be older than 6 years of age and younger than 65 years of age. If you’re an older person with disability, you can access services and support through the aged care system.

How do I use my NDIS funding to pay for Your Mobile Physio services?
To use your NDIS funding with us, you’ll first need to ensure that physiotherapy services are included in your plan under either Improved Daily Living or Health and Well-being. If you’re plan-managed, provide your plan manager’s details, and we’ll invoice them directly. If you’re NDIA-managed, we’ll claim the payment through the NDIS portal on your behalf. For self-managed clients, you pay us directly, and we’ll provide you with an invoice to claim reimbursement from NDIS.

Are Your Mobile Physio’s services covered under the NDIS?
Yes, our services are covered under the NDIS, provided they are included in your plan. We offer physiotherapy, occupational therapy, and exercise physiology services that can be covered under the Improved Daily Living or Health and Well-being categories. We ensure our services align with your NDIS goals and plan.

Can Your Mobile Physio help me with my NDIS plan review?
While we can’t alter your NDIS plan ourselves, we can provide detailed progress reports and recommendations for your plan review meetings. These documents can highlight the benefits of our services and suggest future goals, helping to inform decisions about the continuation or adjustment of services in your plan.

What if my NDIS funds are running low but I still need services?
If you find your funds running low, we recommend contacting us to discuss your situation. We can help by prioritising essential services to fit within your budget. Additionally, it’s important to contact your NDIS planner or coordinator to discuss the possibility of a plan review or adjustment based on your needs.

How does Your Mobile Physio ensure their services are compliant with NDIS guidelines?
We regularly review NDIS guidelines and pricing updates to ensure our services remain compliant. Our therapists are trained in NDIS processes and understand the importance of aligning our services with your plan goals. We maintain detailed documentation for all services provided, ensuring transparency and accountability for NDIS participants and planners.
